Watford FC has completed the signing of Maduka Okoye from the Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam.
The Premier League side announced the signing of the Nigeria international on a five-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee. The deal will officially run from the 1st January, 2022 up until the 2026/2027 campaign.
However, Okoye will stay at the Dutch side to finish the current campaign. Okoye has appeared 13 times for the Super Eagles since making his senior debut against Brazil in 2019.

Maduka is now the Eighth Nigerian to be recruited by the Premier League side, The Hornets have previously signed the likes of Odion Ighalo, Oghenekaro Etebo, Dennis Emmanuel, William Ekong, Isaac Success, Joseph Hungbo, Delẹ Bashiru before the addition of the Nigeria goalie.
Born and raised in Dusseldorf Germany, the 22-year-old started his career at Borussia Mochengladbach and later moved to join the Bayer Leverkusen’s youth system, he then featured for Fortuna Dusseldorf youths but left for the Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam in the summer of 2020.

At the end of his debut season, he bagged the Player Of The Year Award at Sparta Rotterdam for his outstanding performance in the Dutch Topflight league.
