The Edo State House of Assembly has called on Natasha Osawaru, the representative of Egor Constituency, to appear before its Committee on Ethics and Privileges following what members describe as conduct capable of bringing the legislature into disrepute.
The decision was reached during Tuesday’s plenary after online videos of the first-term lawmaker—who is married to music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia—circulated widely on social media.
Speaker Blessing Agbebaku, while addressing members, stressed that Irobosa must appear before the committee within one week to respond to allegations of misconduct tied to her recent actions. He noted that the controversy had affected public perception of the Assembly.

According to him, “Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the Ethics and Privilege Committee of the Assembly due to her recent conduct which has been trending online. This conduct drags the name of the House into the mud and it is the responsibility of the members of the Assembly to conduct themselves well.”
Agbebaku further emphasized that the House comprised “cerebral minds” who should not be embroiled in avoidable controversies. He added, “This House has members who know what they are doing, and the attitude of our members has brought this House to disreput,e and we will not tolerate it.”
The committee is expected to investigate the incident and submit its findings within two weeks.
Irobosa has been at the center of online conversations after a video surfaced showing her in a heated argument with her husband, 2Baba. The clip sparked widespread reactions, with many Nigerians expressing curiosity about the situation between the couple.
Before venturing into politics, she was known primarily for her association with the entertainment scene. Her election was initially viewed as a chance for fresh representation, especially regarding community development and women-focused initiatives.
Her forthcoming appearance before the committee is expected to attract significant public attention as the Assembly formally reviews her conduct.
In November, the couple welcomed their first child together—a baby boy. Earlier speculation about her being in labour arose after she was spotted at a hospital, which she later confirmed in a Facebook post stating they had been “blessed with a baby boy.”
