Nigerian music star 2Baba, born Innocent Idibia, recently met with Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, to discuss a new initiative aimed at using music to positively influence young Nigerians.

The visit was revealed in an Instagram post on Saturday, where the singer explained that the meeting focused on a programme designed to promote positive values among youths through entertainment and culture.

According to him, the initiative seeks to challenge violent narratives and encourage constructive thinking among the country’s large youth population.

“I had the honour of meeting with Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Defence, General CG Musa, alongside my strategic team to explore how music can help counter violent narratives among young Nigerians,” he wrote.

“During the meeting, I unveiled a culture-driven initiative that uses music as a tool for youth reorientation, promoting positive values and transforming entertainment into a force for social impact.”

The award-winning artiste explained that the project is intended to create meaningful conversations, support young creatives, and redirect youthful energy toward national development.

“With over 150 million young people in Nigeria and many vulnerable to negative influences, initiatives like this are important to spark meaningful conversations, empower creative talent, and channel youth energy toward nation-building,” he added.

Although the operational details and official name of the initiative have not yet been made public, the engagement highlights 2Baba’s continued involvement in youth advocacy.

In 2017, the singer launched the Vote Not Fight campaign in partnership with the Youngstars Foundation and the National Democratic Institute to promote peaceful participation during elections.
