Egypt has revealed the reason why they sent Mohamed Salah back to Liverpool before Liberia’s clash.
Salah scored in Egypt’s friendly game against Niger in Alexandria on Friday. According to Egypt, FA decided there was no need for Salah to feature in their game against Liberia, so they wanted to relieve Mohamed Salah and Mostafa Mohamed from their international duty in their next match.
statement from the Egypt FA read: ‘The technical staff of the Egyptian national team preferred to rest Mohamed Salah and Mostafa Mohamed for the Liberia friendly after both took part in the previous match against Niger.”
Salah would be in action for Liverpool when they face Brighton on Saturday in the premier league.
So far the season hasn’t been fantastic for Liverpool, compared to how they were last season. They currently rank 8th in the premier league with nine points to their name.
