Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko has clarified the reason behind the arrest of Ann, a close friend of his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, along with Regina’s elder brother, Sammy, which was reported last week.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Nwoko said Ann was arrested for criminal defamation, following her claims that he physically assaulted his wife, Laila, resulting in a miscarriage.
He denied the allegation, insisting that no such incident occurred. Nwoko also accused Ann of carrying out an illegal abortion on Regina while she was still married to him.
“She accused me of physically assaulting my wife, Laila, and that it resulted in a miscarriage. That did not happen,” Nwoko stated.
He went further to allege that Ann caused the loss of his unborn child in a gruesome manner. “She made Regina swallow a bunch of weeds that left her bleeding for weeks,” he said, accusing her of ending the pregnancy unlawfully.
