Veteran Nollywood star Shaffy Bello has revealed that she made a deliberate decision years ago to stop having more children by undergoing a medical procedure.
The actress shared the personal detail while discussing motherhood on her YouTube platform, Shaffy Bello TV, where she reflected on the choices she made about family planning earlier in her life.
Bello explained that about 26 years ago, she opted to tie her fallopian tubes because she was certain she did not want to raise a large family. According to her, the decision remained firm even though her former husband hoped they would have more children together.

“My ex-husband had to beg me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop,” she said.
The film star also described how the medical procedure was carried out. According to her, doctors accessed her body through her navel and tied the tubes, a step that permanently prevents pregnancy.
“So they went through my navel, went in there, did what they needed to do, and they tied it up. That was it. They closed my eggs,” she said.
Bello further explained that she had always been clear about the kind of family life she wanted and never felt obligated to have more children than she planned.
Speaking humorously, she added that if she ever became pregnant after the procedure, she would see it as something extraordinary.
“I’ve always said to myself that after tying my tubes, if I get pregnant, I will feel like Mary, it’s a holy child,” Bello said.
