Orits Williki, a reggae singer, Kenny Ogungbe, the head of Primetime Entertainment, Tee Mac Iseli, Segun Alile, Mojisola Fayemi, Mike Mbala, and Kola Olulana were all unanimously elected to the board of the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria at the organization’s recent annual general meeting, which was held in Lagos. King Sunny Ade, the society’s president, advised the organization’s members to take an active interest in the upcoming general elections by advising them to obtain permanent voter cards and cast their votes for the candidates of their choice. Orits Wiliki, the chairman of the board, expressed disappointment that the society’s normal collecting target for 2021 was not met. However, he said that the legal front’s triumphs had more than made up for the shortcoming.
Mayo Ayilaran, the society’s chief executive officer, thanked the members for their support of their legal team while also informing them that additional cases involving infringers were still pending in other courts. The distribution of royalties, he continued, was ongoing. He also urged members to update the organization with their current banking and personal information. “We once again request that every member should update their records with the society, particularly their bank details and current addresses,” he stated. To assure all members that the objective of fusing members’ creativity with prosperity is being realized, he thanked the board members for supporting the management wholeheartedly in all of its endeavors.
