Former Chelsea defender William Gallas is of the opinion that Cole Palmer would eventually seal a move to Manchester United. Gallas, however, suggested the 23-year-old will not leave Stamford Bridge in the ongoing summer window.

While speaking to iPredicta, Gallas noted that Palmer needs to stay with the west London club for another season and then seal his dream to join his boyhood club in Manchester.

“I don’t think Palmer will leave now, but if he dreams of playing for Manchester United, I think he will eventually make that move,” Gallas stated.

This development comes after a poor season where Chelsea failed to qualify for any European competition. There was interest from Manchester clubs earlier this year when reports surfaced about Palmer’s alleged homesickness, which Chelsea denied emphatically.

Recent rumour mills started whirling again when new signing Andre Santos revealed Palmer congratulated him on moving to Old Trafford. “He sent me a congratulatory message,” Santos told United’s official website, “ and wishes me the best with this new chapter.”

Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023 for a fee of €42.5 million and was one of their most impressive performers in an otherwise bleak campaign.

Manchester United remain interested in securing Palmer’s services.
