Nigerian music sensation Wizkid has been accorded global recognition by the Guinness World Record for his contribution to the song One Dance. The 2016 song, in which he features alongside Drake and Kyla, was officially recognized as the first song to have attained one billion streams on Spotify.
The announcement, made on the official X page of Guinness World Record, highlighted how the song had achieved a landmark. “The first song to reach one billion streams on Spotify was One Dance by Drake, Wizkid, and Kyla #OTD in 2016,” the post read.
Wizkid FC, as Wizkid’s fans are called, have taken over social media with congratulations, tagging this as another win for the Afrobeats king and Nigerian music at large.
