Omah Lay has shared details about a recent heartbreak, revealing that the relationship lasted just two months but had a deep emotional impact on him.

The singer spoke about the experience during a listening party for his upcoming album ‘Clarity of Mind’, where he reflected on how intensely he approaches relationships. According to him, he often loses himself whenever he falls in love.

Omah Lay recalled that the breakup happened while he was attending the Grammy Awards, at the same moment Justin Bieber was performing on stage. He described the moment as both painful and embarrassing.

“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammy and Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup and an embarrassing moment,” he said.

The ‘Soso’ crooner explained that even before the ceremony began, issues had already started in the relationship, which made it difficult for him to enjoy the event.

“While I was at the Grammys, I was not present because even before the show, I had already started having issues in my relationship. And this was only a two-month-old relationship. But I thought it was the right relationship and I was going to have a baby.”

Despite the short duration of the romance, the singer said he believed it could lead to something serious, including starting a family together.

Omah Lay also revealed that the emotional experience inspired one of the songs on his forthcoming project. According to him, the track titled ‘Don’t Love Me’ reflects his struggles with balancing relationships and personal fulfillment.

“I do not know how to do two things at a time. When I am into one thing, all of me is into that. So, I wasn’t even present at the Grammys. I didn’t even enjoy anything,” he added.

“So my song ‘Don’t Love Me’ is me saying girl, let us enjoy this moment, but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m going to leave.”

The singer noted that the experience ultimately influenced his creative process and helped shape the message behind the new song on his upcoming album.
