Nobel Laureate and renowned writer, Wole Soyinka, sat down with CNN’s Larry Madowo to discuss life and what the future might hold for him. Ninety-year-old Soyinka is candid about his long career as a writer and an activist and also discusses his time in prison in this African Voices Changemakers series. He reveals what he will do next.
During the interview, Soyinka was quick to let slip that he had already made plans for his eventual transition. As he spoke with Madowo, he remained in a pensive mood, knowing full well that that particular chapter of life was inescapable. However, he reassured viewers that he is only concerned about the present and enjoying his life out of the spotlight.
He had talked about resting, abstaining from interviews, and doing things that make him happy. He also added that he wants to go on holiday after hard work for all these years and live his life at a slow pace.
