The Kogi State Governorship race is getting hotter after the state Auditor General, Ahmed Ododo, and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Salami Ozigi-Deedat bought their nomination and expression of interest forms.
This development is coming after Yahaya Bello’s Chief of Staff, Abdulkareem Asuku, also showed us interest in the governorship seat by purchasing a nomination form.
Recall that although there had been talks that Bello might impose his chosen successor, he had also given his blessing to interested members of his cabinet and loyalists to pursue their political ambition.
Asides from notable figures: Asuku, Ododo, and Deedat, informants at the secretariat have confirmed that the Chairman of, the House Committee on Finance and Secretary for the APC presidential campaign council, James Faleke, and the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Smart Adeyemi, have both sent out emissaries to purchase their nomination forms respectively. The news is yet to be made official at the time of filing this report.
