Nigerian music star Yemi Alade has accused Cool FM Nigeria and CloudAfrica FM of blacklisting her music for close to a year. The singer mentioned that she couldn’t make it to their event in December 2023 but reached out in January to apologize. In return, Yemi says the stations’ managers, Mr. Serge and Mr. Joseph, retaliated by pulling her entire music catalog off the stations’ playlists.
Yemi told them how such an attitude is unprofessional and how they are trying to “play God” in the industry. She reiterated that such actions not only hurt her but her fans, too, since she has been fighting for fairness and accountability in the music space.
It’s disheartening to see personal misunderstandings affect an artist’s work. Sorting this issue out professionally will help both parties and the entire industry as well.
