Controversial social media critic Daniel Regha has stirred reactions online after describing Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy as an “upcoming artist” when compared to his industry peers Wizkid and Davido.
Regha made the remark during an appearance on Doyin’s Corner, a podcast hosted by BBNaija star Doyinsola, in a clip shared via X on Sunday.
He argued that Burna Boy should not be placed on the same level as Wizkid and Davido because he did not rise to fame at the same time they did.
“When these artists were popping up, Burna was nowhere to be found. Burna had his own group of people that popped the same time with him. There is a set for everybody,” Regha said.
He further emphasised that comparing Burna Boy to Wizkid or Davido is like placing Davido and Wizkid in the same category as music legend 2Face Idibia, which he considers unreasonable.
“It’s like putting 2Face, Wizkid and Davido. It doesn’t make any sense. Because 2Face literally surpassed all of them,” he added.
