YouTube Film Revenue Blocked After Alleged Theft — Bimbo Ademoye Reacts
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has raised an alarm after an individual allegedly filed a copyright claim on a song used in her YouTube movie, Where Love Lives, leading to the demonetisation of the film.

The movie, which was released in December 2025, has attracted massive attention online, recording over 18 million views so far.

According to Ademoye, the individual not only placed a copyright claim on the song but also allegedly uploaded the same track on Spotify and other streaming platforms, falsely presenting himself as the composer.

Expressing her anger and frustration in an Instagram post, the actress issued a stern ultimatum, demanding that the copyright claim be removed immediately or she would take action.

“I woke up to my hard work wanting to be stolen from me. Please if anyone knows who lagos sound /emmanuel Davies is! Tell to lift the copyright from my movie in the next 1 hour. I’m not one to threaten people,” she wrote.

Ademoye insisted that she fully owns the rights to the song, accusing the individual of unlawfully claiming ownership and blocking her from earning revenue from her own work.

“But emmanuel, you have 1 hour to lift that copyright from My movie. A song I completely own the rights to, you took it, uploaded it, named yourself the composer and blocked me from making money from my own swear. Emmanuel Davies!” she added.

The filmmaker further warned of serious consequences if the issue was not resolved promptly.

“YOU HAVE 1 HOUR. I’d place a bounty on your head and when I find you. You’d wish you never did this. First Anwuli (who I’m still coming for, now this) whoever knows lagos sound/emmanuel Davies should warn him now!! Before i handle this MY OWN WAY!” she wrote.

The incident has sparked conversations online about copyright abuse and content theft faced by Nigerian filmmakers on digital platforms.
