Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has voiced his support for Nigeria’s next president to come from the South-East, describing it as a matter of fairness and justice.
In a video message posted on his Instagram page on Monday, Edochie said,
“The next President of Nigeria should come from the South-East in fairness and equity. That’s just the truth and that’s how it should be.”
His statement has drawn attention, given his reputation as a strong supporter of the current President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has already signaled interest in seeking a second term in 2027.
Edochie has frequently encouraged Nigerians to remain patient through the country’s current economic difficulties, expressing optimism that the benefits of Tinubu’s policies will be felt in due time.
His latest remarks, however, appear to signal a shift, sparking discussions among political observers and fans alike.
