The Zamfara State Chief judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu has accorded an unconditional pardon to thirty prisoners in the state.
Justice Aliyu had afterwards, cautioned the released inmates to avoid and shun all forms of criminalities and illegal behaviour so that they can become useful individuals in the society.
The prisoners were liberated at the Gusau central correctional centre.
The released inmates includes those on death row, as well as those guilty for committing various crimes and awaiting trial.
Barrister Aisha Jibril, the State’s Director litigation, had revealed that the Chief Judge had warned the absolved inmates to change their ways for good.
The major crimes of those pardoned had included obtaining money under false pretense, witchcraft, rape, and other vices.
