Zelensky: Ukrainian Incursion in Kursk Ties Down 50,000 Russian Troops

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a Ukrainian operation in Russia’s Kursk region is tying down 50,000 Russian soldiers, reducing Moscow’s capacity to attack Ukraine.

In his address, Zelensky pointed out the big role this operation plays, saying, “Our troops are stopping 50,000 invaders from being moved somewhere else.” General Oleksandr Syrskyy agreed, noting that this operation stops top Russian units from helping in important battles.

The fighting is still going on in Donetsk, where Russian forces are attacking the city of Pokrovsk. Also, Ukraine and the U.S. say that more than 10,000 North Korean soldiers have joined Russian forces, but Russia hasn’t said this is true.

North Korea and Russia have become closer, with North Korea signing a defence agreement with Moscow. NATO believes that Russia is giving North Korea military technology in exchange for weapons.

Additionally,the Kremlin denied reports of a call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, where he allegedly warned Russia against escalating the conflict.
