Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has once again proved her box office clout with ‘Behind The Scenes’, which has officially become the highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2025, raking in an impressive ₦1.767 billion in just under four weeks.
FilmOne Entertainment, the movie’s distributor, celebrated the achievement on social media, writing: “Celebrating yet another incredible milestone, and we’re so sure we wouldn’t have done this without you and your love.
“Behind The Scenes hits a whopping N1.77B, also standing as the Number 1 film of the weekend. Thank you to everyone for the love and support so far.”
The film had already set the tone for success with its record-breaking opening, surpassing five opening-weekend records, including the highest single-day gross on Boxing Day with ₦129.5 million.
Akindele, whose previous films A Tribe Called Judah and Everybody Loves Jenifa also crossed the ₦1 billion mark, continues to cement her reputation as a powerhouse in Nollywood.
The buzz surrounding Behind The Scenes began with advanced screenings on December 10 and 11, which generated significant audience excitement ahead of the nationwide release on December 12.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Scarlet Gomez, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, and Uche Montana, delivering performances that have contributed to its widespread appeal.
