The 8th edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA kicks off on the 7th of May, 2022. It would showcase Africa’s finest producers, directors, content creators, and media practitioners in one location. The event would be hosted by South Africa’s Bonang Matheba and Nigeria’s IK Osakioduwa.
This event is to hold for 8 days starting with a series of experiences such as the ‘AMVCA Runway Show’ on Sunday; Young Filmmakers’ Day, starring film screenings and panel discussions by students of the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy, on Monday, and the Africa Magic Content Market Workshop on Tuesday, and Digital Content Creator’s Brunch on Wednesday, the Culture and Food Festival Day on Thursday, the nominees’ gala will hold on Friday.
The award gala would hold on the 14th of May. 22. categories have been enlisted for the winners of the award, 12 of which are included in the public voting categories while the other 21 will be selected by the awards panel headed by seasoned filmmaker Victor Okhai.
A new category; Best Online Social Content Creator was initiated. This year’s Best Soundtrack winner will take home N1 million endorsed by Pepsi.
There would be a first-of-its-kind joint performance from Rema and Lagbaja on the 14th of May, 2022.
