Attorney General of the federation and minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has gone back on his decision to be the governor of Kebbi state. He had declared his interest in April and submitted his nomination form on the 11th of May, 2022. However, in a recent interview with Vanguard, Malami said that he would be retaining his position as the Attorney General and would not be going forward with the Kebbi governorship race. His reason for this decision has not yet been made known to the public but there are speculations that he is scared that he would win the ticket.
“I have not resigned as the Attorney General of the Federation but have only withdrawn from the Kebbi governorship race,”
Malami was one of the ministers in Buhari’s cabinet to have resigned to pursue their new political ambition.
