Officers of Ogun State Police command have arrested five men for purportedly robbing a company in Sango Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The suspects, according to a statement were Umar Haruna, Abbah Yahaya, Muritala Umar, Wale Fadeyi, and Segun Olofinmade.

Oyeyemi, police command’s image-maker had said: “The suspects were arrested following an emergency call received by policemen at Sango divisional headquarters about 12:30 am, that a group of armed robbers numbering 11, and armed with cutlasses had forcefully gained entrance into Balita Company and were hard at work, packing away motor engines the company sells.

“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums who came with a Mitsubishi Canter bus quickly took to their heels, but they were chased and five among them were arrested while others escaped.

From preliminary investigations, it is revealed that the robbery incident was masterminded by an ex-Chief Security Officer of the company, who was relieved of his duty about three months ago. The said former Chief Security Officer is currently on the run.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet but proper investigation.
