New images of the face of the gunman who is now wanted for killing UnitedHealthcare CEO has been revealed as Brian Thompson. This development had come as the massive manhunt for Thompson’s killer led the police to an Upper West Side hostel.
Port Authority police have said they believe the suspect came to Manhattan on a bus from Atlanta almost two weeks ago.
The images, taken at the HI New York City Hostel on Amsterdam Avenue close to West 104th Street, showed the suspect without a mask and smiling at someone as he stood by the front desk.
These surveillance images were taken before Thompson was gunned down outside a Hilton hotel in Midtown, according to police sources.
Immediately the gunman was able to track the hostel, detectives swarmed the location at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Port Authority police helping NYPD investigators to monitor the movements of the shooter have determined that the suspect arrived in the city on a Greyhound bus through the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown, according to a source to the Daily News on Thursday night.
This source added that he arrived the evening of November 24 from Atlanta, and that a footage of him walking through the Eighth Avenue bus terminal was available.

- The gunman was checked into a fourth-floor room of the hostel before the shooting, according to hostel residents but it is not yet known how long he had stayed in the low-priced room before the shooting occurred.
- The NYPD has posted images of the suspect on Thursday with the hopes that someone will recognize him.
- The suspect killed 50-year old Thompson, as he walked to a Hilton hotel on West 54th Street and Sixth Avenue. He was reportedly about to address colleagues and company investors at an conference, according to the police.
- The surveillance footage revealed the man shoot Thompson square in the back, before firing at least three more times.
- After the shooting, he fled the scene on a bicycle and disappeared in Central Park, but the police picked up his trail late Wednesday night on the Upper West Side.
The police are currently offering $10,000 reward for any information that’ll lead to the gunman’s capture.
