The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has once again appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite the discomfort caused by its economic reforms. Ganduje, a man often at the center of controversy, whether it’s meddling in state affairs or making cryptic statements, chose the occasion of Christmas to deliver his latest sermon.

In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje tried to paint a picture of hope amid hardship. He reminded Nigerians that Tinubu’s two “bold” policies—petrol subsidy removal and exchange rate unification were meant to fix the country. Ironically, these same policies have sent inflation rising, leaving many Nigerians struggling with basic survival.

Yet Ganduje insists there’s light at the end of this bleak tunnel. He claimed the reforms are already bearing fruit, though it’s unclear which Nigerians are reaping these benefits. He confidently predicted that by next Christmas, the economy would stabilize, and the country would be singing Tinubu’s praises.

In his message, the former Kano State governor also credited the administration with reducing cases of banditry and kidnapping, as though security woes have magically disappeared. While Ganduje celebrated “progress,” many Nigerians continue to live in fear.

He assured Nigerians that the APC leadership remains committed to policies that will promote sustainable growth, security, and improved welfare. The irony of making such promises amid growing hardship was not lost.

Ganduje also urged Nigerians to use the festive season to pray for the nation’s peace, stability, and prosperity. While this sounds noble, we all know that prayers alone will not fix a crumbling economy or alleviate the suffering of millions.

He called for unity, selflessness, and care for the less privileged, conveniently sidestepping the fact that it is the government’s policies that have pushed more Nigerians into poverty.

All these are just typical Ganduje nothing genuine.
