Yobe Governor Assures Army of Continued Support in Fight Against Insurgency

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the army and other security agencies in their ongoing efforts to combat insurgency within the state. He made this assurance during a courtesy visit from the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, at the Government House in Damaturu on Sunday. In a statement released by his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni praised the military’s dedication, highlighting the improved security situation across all 17 local government areas. He emphasized the current accessibility and freedom of movement enjoyed by citizens, enabling the government to effectively implement its development programs. While acknowledging the progress, Governor Buni stressed the need for enhanced border patrols to deter potential insurgent infiltration targeting vulnerable areas.
