Speed Darlington Alleges Assassination Attempt, Claims Life Threat

Speed Darlington, a Nigerian artist, has advised people who no longer support him to get lost.

The musician made this statement after he parted ways with his lawyer, Stanley Alieke.

On Monday, Alieke announced the severance of his firm, Law Capitol, from the controversial musician on his Instagram story.

The separation came a week after the musician was released from protracted incarceration by Nigerian police for reportedly cyberstalking his colleague, Burna Boy.

In a viral video posted to his Instagram page, the musician responded by encouraging fans who advised him to back down from his rivalry with Burna to get lost if they were weary of supporting him.

He said, “I’m on my way to the studio for more music. My life is my content. Let nobody tell me what to post. If you are tired of supporting, you get lost. And let my God guide me.

“Support, support, how many of you spend money? I spend my own money, so shut up. Let me do what I want and keep your advice to yourself. I have been there and done that; the fear is not the same.”

He captioned the video, while casting shade at Burna: “Always singing about police brutality in Nigeria. Yet he proceeds to hire police to hold me longer. And this is only what you can say? *Leave him and move on*”

Recall that the singer was detained in October and November 2024 for criticising Burna Boy’s relationship with the embattled American rapper Diddy.

He asserted that Burna’s supposed relationship with Diddy was a factor in his 2021 Grammy victory.

Darlington released the diss single “Baby Oil,” directed at Burna Boy and Diddy, in October 2024, and it soon gained popularity on Spotify Nigeria.

Darlington has constantly utilised his music “Baby Oil” in his content since being released from Kuje prison after two months.

After being released from detention, Darlington told his followers, “went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
