The highly anticipated film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel Children of Blood and Bone has unveiled new cast members.

The most recent confirmed cast members for the show are veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo and Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr.

The ensemble cast of the fantasy epic, which was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, includes Damson Idris as Prince Inan, Thuso Mbedu as Zélie, Tosin Cole as Tzain, and Amandla Stenberg as Princess Amari.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, and Lashana Lynch are among the other notable actors cast in the film.

Children of Blood and Bone is set in the mythological realm of Orïsha and chronicles the adventure of Zélie, a teenage warrior trying to restore magic to her people after harsh king’s oppression.

The film will be shot in South Africa, with a release date of early 2027.
