Sophia Momodu, the first babymama of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has fired back at online critics in a series of passionate Snapchat posts during the singer’s wedding celebrations.
The controversy began when Sophia shared a video on her Snapchat story featuring an American man describing the challenges of dating a “free-spirited woman.” She captioned the clip, “Surviving a free spirit.”
The video included the words, “Messing with a free-spirited woman is not for the weak. She is free, and she has no problem showing you that she is free. My brother, that woman doesn’t belong to you.”
After this post, a Snapchat user told Sophia to get married and take lessons from Wizkid’s babymamas, who “hardly post” online and “respect themselves.”
Sophia responded sharply, saying,
“Sarah, I hope you, your family and everyone you love go blind, cos how are you watching me when you don’t like me? Please, leave women alone. Imagine thinking you can make me feel bad cos my voice/platform is heavy. I am the prize hoe!”
Another follower praised her but cautioned her to watch her tone to avoid unnecessary drama. Sophia dismissed the advice, replying,
“Sweetie, I dgaf what a bunch of brokies who are dedicated to misunderstanding me have to say. Those who matter don’t mind. Also, y’all need to understand I’m a bigger bully. God is just working on me. And another thing, don’t ever come on my platform to tell me what I can or can’t talk about. Also, it’s Sophia to you.”
In a further post, Sophia addressed those who dislike her but continue to watch her content, telling them to “check into a mental institute.” She also revealed that some critics had been messaging her about why she hasn’t bleached her skin.
“Are you people even okay? Is it by force to be yellow with weird-looking knuckles?” she wrote.
