Nollywood star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, has shed light on her marital journey, describing life with her husband, reality TV personality Teddy A, as both rewarding and demanding.
In a recent interview shared on X on Wednesday, Bambam admitted that her marriage has not been the “fairy tale” many assume.
She revealed that after welcoming their first child, she and Teddy A often clashed as they both grew into new phases of their lives, even questioning whether their union was truly God’s will.
“I began to evolve as a woman, and he too was discovering himself. Our differences started to clash, and many times we asked ourselves why we were even here. But I held on to God and His promises for my marriage,” she said.
The actress explained that therapy, counseling, and prayer helped them weather those storms. She noted that Teddy A’s eventual decision to surrender to Christ became a turning point, easing the tension and strengthening their marriage.
Bambam also spoke about her personal battles, including pregnancy, postpartum struggles, and the emotional confusion that came with motherhood.
Despite the difficulties, she described marriage as a “learning curve” that has deepened their love each time they overcame a trial together.
“My greatest joy through the journey has been him having a personal relationship with God. That has been the sweetener,” she added.
Offering advice to singles, Bambam urged them to keep sex out of relationships until after marriage, while also prioritizing counseling and ensuring they are emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually ready for the commitment.
She concluded by stressing that although marriage has its challenges, with God at the center, those challenges become stepping stones for growth and make the love journey even sweeter.
