Nollywood actor Michael Ejoor has spoken candidly about his prolonged battle with depression and several suicide attempts.
In a recent chat with Jay On Air, which surfaced on X on Friday, Ejoor revealed that he was diagnosed with clinical depression 14 years ago—a period he described as one of the darkest in his life, marked by multiple efforts to take his own life.
He recalled a harrowing incident in the UK when he attempted to step in front of a moving vehicle.
Opening up about his early years, Ejoor said he had always felt isolated and unwanted, even within his own family.
“Growing up, I was secluded. I thought everybody hated me. I even thought my dad hated me. I didn’t think anybody liked me. I didn’t think anything was going well for me,” he said.
The actor went on to explain how depression left him feeling hopeless and unable to think of the future.
“I didn’t want to think about tomorrow. The worst question you could ask me was my five-year goal. I didn’t even want to be alive tomorrow,” he added.
