Legendary Nigerian Afro-Juju musician, Oluwashina Akanbi Peters, popularly known as Shina Peters, has debunked viral rumours claiming he died of a heart attack.

The 67-year-old music icon addressed the false reports on Saturday via his Instagram page, assuring fans that he is very much alive and in good health.

A viral post circulating on social media had falsely alleged that the veteran singer had passed away, sparking confusion among fans and colleagues. The misleading message even included hashtags such as #MusicIcon, #Tribute, and #GoneTooSoon.

Reacting to the speculation, Shina Peters wrote, “This is False News  I’m alive and well… kindly disregard, flag and report the promoters of such news.”

He further dismissed the rumours in Yoruba, saying, “E da ke Rumors!!” — which translates to “Stop spreading rumours.”

Peters, celebrated for pioneering the Afro-Juju sound, urged his followers to ignore such misleading information and always verify facts before sharing.
