A group of Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweights has earned nominations for the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards, underscoring the genre’s growing global recognition.
The Recording Academy unveiled the official shortlist on Friday evening, with several Nigerian stars featuring prominently across major international categories.
Davido and Omah Lay secured a spot in the Best African Music Performance category for their joint hit “With You.” They will compete alongside Burna Boy’s “Love,” and “Gimme Dat,” a collaboration between Ayra Starr and Wizkid.
Burna Boy, who already boasts a Grammy win, also landed another nomination for Best Global Music Album with his project “No Sign of Weakness.”
