Comedian and actor Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has advised estranged couples to keep their marital problems off social media, stressing that publicizing such issues could have lasting negative effects on their children.

Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, the entertainer—whose marriage also ended in divorce—explained that while every relationship has its struggles, maturity requires handling them privately and with discretion.

According to him, “E don tey wey families don dey get problems, since the beginning of time. That’s how it has always been. Even me wey dey talk right now, e get one time wey me sef get family problem. But I no bring am come online come dey drop details.”

Basketmouth criticized the increasing habit of couples sharing their personal matters online, warning that it exposes their children to ridicule and psychological harm.

He said, “But right now, e don become the norm for people to come outside and talk about things wey supposed be privileged information to people wey them no know. Forgetting say their children go grow come see all these things online. Their children’s friends go fit use these things as a weapon against them. Mess up their minds.”

Referring to the ongoing drama involving actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, Basketmouth urged the senator to handle the situation with calmness and wisdom.

“Now this one between Senator and Regina. Just every day, it keeps getting worse. Every day, it keeps getting worse. What is going on? See, Senator, you be elder, if nobody go tell you, I go tell you. Me Bright Okpocha, I go talk my mind,” he said.
