Late goal by Adli helped Bournemouth to an incredible 3–2 win against Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium, marking only their second victory in the last 15 games before the Reds and also increasing Arne Slot’s team’s winless streak in the league to five matches.
Liverpool, who were in high spirits due to the European victory in the middle of the week, took their time to start and found it difficult to create clear opportunities in the opening minutes. Bournemouth took the lead in the 26th minute after Virgil van Dijk failed to spot a long ball accurately, which gave Alex Scott the opportunity to assist Evanilson, who scored past Alisson. Not long before the interval, the hosts scored their second goal as Álex Jiménez wrapped up the chance coolly after being played onside.

The visitors reacted before the break, with Van Dijk atoning for his mistake by heading in a corner from Dominik Szoboszlai. After the interval, Liverpool had most of the ball but were often held at bay by Bournemouth’s defensive blocks and, at one point, Ryan Gravenberch narrowly missed the target.
Nearing the end, Liverpool managed to level the score when Szoboszlai bent a free-kick over Đorđe Petrović into the net. Nevertheless, it was Bournemouth who scored the decisive goal. In the additional time, a long throw led to a mix-up in the box and Amine Adli pounced on the loose ball, putting it across the line to trigger ecstatic celebrations.
The goal scored at the last moment helped end Bournemouth’s six-game losing streak against Liverpool and gave Andoni Iraola’s side a historic win, whereas Liverpool had to lament yet another expensive stumbling block in their quest to finish in the top four.
