American rapper Nayvadius DeMun Cash, popularly known as Future, has opened up about his greatest regret in life, admitting that he wishes he had loved and treated women more thoughtfully.

The music star, who has nine children with different women, attributed his struggles in romantic relationships to growing up without a strong male role model.

Speaking in an interview with Hot 97 FM, Future reflected on his upbringing, saying he never saw his mother receive genuine affection from a man.

“Why Not Loving Women Better Is My Biggest Regret” — Future

“My biggest regret in life is, I should have loved harder. I should have found a way to love the right way. I came from nothing and I didn’t have a person or a male role model to show me how to treat a woman. I have never seen someone buy my mum a flower,” he said.

Future explained that his past relationships served as his only guide for understanding love and relationship dynamics.

He clarified, however, that he is not using his childhood experiences to excuse mistakes he made in prior relationships, adding that he is now focused on growth.

“I’m learning from my mistakes and making better decisions,” Future noted, emphasising his commitment to becoming a better partner moving forward.
