Popular Nigerian socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has admitted that his decision not to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a political misjudgment, stating that he now prefers to work with the federal government rather than oppose it.

Speaking at a political gathering in Imo State, the entrepreneur explained that the event was the outcome of weeks of planning and reflected increasing support for the current administration.

According to him, years of opposing the government did not produce the expected results, which led him and others to reconsider their approach.

“We have decided to partner with the government at the center. We are not ready to fight. We tried fighting and it didn’t work for us,” he said.

Cubana Chief Priest also commended the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a strong relationship with the federal government, noting that such cooperation has contributed to development in the state.

He further praised Seyi Tinubu, describing him as someone helping to bridge divides and foster unity among different groups across the country.

Reflecting on the previous election, the businessman acknowledged that he had earlier opposed Tinubu but now believes the decision was a mistake.

“Politics is a game…we don’t want to lose again and we will never waste our votes again,” he said.

He added that the level of support building around the president could grow into one of the biggest political movements in the country, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.

Cubana Chief Priest ended his remarks by praying for Tinubu’s success in office and urged Nigerians to prioritise unity and cooperation as the country continues its development journey.
