Controversial street-pop singer Portable has openly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, claiming his continued leadership would ensure peace in Nigeria.
In a viral video making rounds on social media, the artiste appealed to Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, linking national stability to the president’s re-election.
“Nigeria my country, we need peace, we want peace. If you do not want war in Nigeria, vote Tinubu. I do not want a problem. If you do not want US-Iran type of war, follow Tinubu. I am telling you the world is wicked,” he said.

Portable also made remarks centered on ethnic alignment, insisting that the presidency should remain in the Yoruba region for a second term.
“It is Yoruba turn for second term oh. Woe betide a Yoruba indigene that doesn’t vote for Tinubu,” he said.
The singer further revealed that he is part of a pro-Tinubu support group and hinted at plans to mobilise voters, noting that he has already received campaign materials.
“I just collected clothes, I haven’t collected money. If I collect money, I will share rice, noodles, and palm oil,” he added.
In another part of the video, Portable issued a controversial warning directed at individuals who may have benefited from Tinubu’s administration but might not support his re-election.
“If you have benefited from Tinubu, and you refuse to vote Tinubu, may Ogun kill you, be drenched with your blood,” he said.
He also dismissed concerns over rising fuel costs, reaffirming his loyalty to the president despite public criticism.
“They said petrol is expensive. Even if petrol is N1m, let God keep providing for me and my fans. For those of you bullying me, who do you expect me to support? I do not support loser. My fans please support Tinubu. The person I am following is not a loser,” he stated.
Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola, has consistently shown support for Tinubu, joining a list of entertainers who have publicly backed the president despite backlash from sections of the public.
