The Gunners secured an important 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, extending their unbeaten run in the competition to 13 games.
The only concern for the Gunners early on was David Raya having to be at full stretch to deny Julián Álvarez from finding the net. The initial nervy period of play quickly subsided with Arsenal dominating long periods of play before they took the lead on the stroke of half-time.
With the on-rushing Oblak committed, the excellent Viktor Gyokeres converted a penalty awarded for a foul on him, and it seemed well deserved as they had dominated proceedings.

Atletico exploded out after the restart, drawing level quickly, when Alvarez expertly buried a penalty in the box, with the handball clearly visible on Ben White. They may have taken the lead through Antoine Griezmann, who hit the underside of the bar from a shot with 10 minutes to go.
Raya enjoyed a magnificent night in goal and once again had to be there to deny them. Arsenal could have won it in the final 2 minutes, but the penalty awarded to them was controversially taken away after a review on the VAR.
