Naomi Osaka makes her second entry in the US Open before taking over Anastasia Zakharova to get her first match of New York out of the way.
As a three-time champion of the Grand Slam and a 13th seed in the draw in Japan , a couple of hours will be taken to over the Russian 7-6(6), 7-6(3) from Arthur Ashe stadium .

A similar pattern unfolded in the second round and Osaka led 5-3 after which Zakharova battled for 5-5 and even takes the lead to 6-5 , with strong reply Osaka held her service to null after a remarkable tie-break that sealed the straight set victory for her.
Consequently, the former winner takes her campaign towards the next stage, where hope is still alive for a US Open triumph again.
