President Bola Tinubu honours the Super Falcons The President, Bola Tinubu has paid up the $100,000 reward promise he made to Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
The NSC said members of the squad have begun to receive about N140million against the naira amount of the reward promised.
“I promise to you if I am given another chance to serve as your president, I will continue to support you in every way I can,” Tinubu said. “After the Falcons forced a stunning 3-2 victory over the hosts Morocco in the final in July 2025, I promise to give our team your full support.”

Nigeria were already 2-0 down before mounting a comeback to win back the African title and reaffirm themselves as the continent’s most successful women’s national team.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade thanked the President for keeping to his word as the payment was a reward of the team’s success.
The NSC equally lauded Tinubu for ‘recognition’ for Nigerian athletes and for ‘rewarding sporting performance’.
Earlier, the President had made the same promise to D’Tigress, after they secured their fifth back-to-back Afro Basket victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afro Basket.
“If such action is fulfilled, the commission said that the athlete would also have the confidence to do better, as the country would be confident of the management of sport.”
