As people began criticising the singer, she shared memes with comments including, “Being liked by everyone is a clown’s job.”

It is about whether someone who has taken a public stance on a polarizing issue can still serve as a neutral ambassador for an organization whose mission is to help all children, regardless of politics or geography. That is a fair question. It is also one UNICEF should answer, not a Change.org petition with 162,000 signatures.
Bardem sharing the petition is his right. But it also reveals something uncomfortable about celebrity activism: the same energy used to defend free expression can be used to punish it. Pink said something Bardem and others did not like. Now they want her removed. That is their right. It is also a reminder that in the current climate, nobody gets to be neutral for long. You either pick a side or one gets picked for you.
