Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine, a former music sensation from Uganda who is now a politician, has regained his freedom from United Arab Emirates officials in Dubai.
Wine claimed that he was held for 12 hours and questioned about his political party, family, and personal information after being detained at the weekend after traveling to Dubai to perform at a music festival.
The event whose revenues were going to help African migrants in the country in the Persian Gulf was then canceled after he was later released without being charged.
However, the Ugandan independence fighter has attributed the cancellation of his music show to Uganda embassy officials.
Mr. Kyagulanyi ran in the presidential election last year but was defeated by Yoweri Museveni.
