Ex-England defender, Gary Neville believes that France’s star player, Mbappe might be too much for Morocco to handle.
While Argentina is to tackle Croatia for a place in the finals today, France will be tackling African giants, Morocco for a seat in the finals of the 2022 world cup tournament on Wednesday in the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.
Neville praised Morocco for their brilliant performances so far, especially with their defense, as it is structured in a way that refuses entry from the opponents, and he further said that it won’t be surprising if they defeat France in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 world cup.
He however said that the only prirm Morocco will have is Mbappe as he doesn’t think that they can contain the player. Nevertheless, he commended them for making history in the world cup.
“I was thinking about how we used to defend deep with England at times, but when I’ve seen Morocco sit in, they’ve also tried to play out of the tight areas in the defensive third.
“It takes real courage to try to do that, and then they also do a counter-attack. Generally, it’s the story of the tournament, and it wouldn’t surprise them if they went and beat France.
“That said, Mbappe is the difference. I’m not sure Morocco will be able to handle him. They’ve got injuries as well and tough games, but it’s been one of the stories of the tournament.”
It’s almost the end of the 2022 world cup tournament, which teams do you think are making it through to the finals?
