The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to extend the period during which gasoline would be sold at the set price of N195 per liter by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).
The request was made on Monday in Ibadan by Joseph Akanni, the western zone vice-chairman of IPMAN.
Mr. Akanni stated that all IPMAN chairmen were en route to Abuja to hold a meeting and that all the association was requesting was time to sell all the expensive goods its members had purchased.
He also said that the association’s management had advised members to refrain from purchasing fuel at increased prices.
Mr. Akanni claims that although the majority of members ordered fuel from private depots approximately a month ago, they just received it.
Due to the current fuel shortage and price increase, which ranges from N190 to N420 per liter, Nigerians have struggled.
