Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, a former governor of Enugu State, the son of a former governor of Ekiti State named Fayose Oluwajomiloju John, as well as three other individuals, have been expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for suspected anti-party activities.

At its 566th meeting, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which took place yesterday at its national secretariat, declared that it had decided to expel the following people from the party for engaging in anti-party activities and other serious offenses that violated the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

Hon. Chris Ogbu (Imo State), Ajijola Lateef Oladimeji (Ekiti Central), Olayinka James Olalere (Ekiti Central II), Akerele Oluyinka (Ekiti North I), and Emiola Adenike Jennifer are among those expelled from the party alongside Nnamani and Fayose (Ekiti South II).

The expulsion became effective on Friday, February 10, 2023, according to a statement by Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary.

The NWC’s decision was made in response to the National Disciplinary Committee’s recommendation and following Sections 58 and 59 (1)(g) of the PDP Constitution, the statement claims (as amended in 2017).

The PDP urged all of its members to remain unified and committed to its goal of rescuing, rebuilding, and reorienting our country away from misrule.

In the meantime, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, the director general (DG) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), narrowly evaded an assassination attempt yesterday in Rivers State.

At the suggested location for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign rally in the Rainbow neighborhood of Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, gunmen wearing police camouflage uniforms opened fire on him, destroying his Toyota Land Cruiser model jeep with bullets.

The wreckage of the car, which has gone viral on social media, revealed that the front tire and the back seat window glasses were shot through with bullets.

In a press conference, Sekibo claimed that the incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. and that the perpetrators were Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike’s security personnel
