Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity has declared that there were several irregularities in the just concluded Saturday elections.
The disclosure had been made via an article titled, ‘FOR PMB, IT’S NIGERIA AND NOTHING ELSE’ Adesina had shared on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, March 2.
Recall that on Wednesday, March 1, Nigeria’s Electoral Body, INEC declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the February 25 presidential election and subsequently the president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Bola Tinubu, the former Lagos State governor had won with 8,794,726 votes, as against his core challengers: Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 6,984,520 and Labour Party (LP)’s Peter Obi, who scored 6,101,533.
Meanwhile, the PDP and LP political parties had called for the cancellation of the presidential election over allegations that INEC had not complied with the law in the collation and announcement of the results.
