The governorship elections in Kebbi and Adamawa states were declared inconclusive by INEC, and subsequent elections were scheduled to take place in some polling places in both states.

Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner, and Chairman of the commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee had promised last Saturday to announce a new date for the supplementary election that would be “credible and transparent” to protesting women at the commission’s headquarters regarding the Adamawa election.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is accused of planning to rig the Adamawa governorship poll, prompting a new round of concern from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

Speaking to reporters about this development, PDP National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba stated that the PDP’s candidate, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, already had a significant lead over the APC’s defeated candidate, Senator Aisha Binani, with 31,299 valid votes.

He warned INEC and the APC not to tamper with the results that have already been proclaimed and declared at the polling locations where the election has ended and returns have been made by the returning officers under any pretense or circumstance.
