Passengers on their way to their work places on Thursday were left stranded following the fuel scarcity plaguing Kaduna State.
The fortunate commuters who were fortunate to get buses paid double the normal transport fares to their different destinations.
News reporters also observed that several filling stations across the Kaduna metropolis were closed while the ones that opened were filled to capacity as motorists battled to purchase fuel.
A passenger at the Kakuri bus stop, Mr. James Onoja, revealed to newsmen that he had been at the bus stop as early as 6 am but he could not get a bus going into town.
Another passenger, a nursing mother, Mrs. Salamatu Joseph, had intended to go to Central Market, but after having spent over three hours without getting a bus, she decided to head back home.
At the time of filing this report, petroleum markers in the state were unavailable for comments and it is yet unclear why there is a sudden scarcity in fuel in the state.
