The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported that its officers found a snake-guarded shrine in Edo State being used to store illegal drugs. A hidden storage area, a large hole in a wall concealed by wallpapers and fetish objects, was discovered during the operation.

The NDLEA revealed that they seized 8.743kg of methamphetamine and potent cannabis strains like Loud, Colorado, and Arizona from the shrine. Two women were arrested during the raid, and the snake guarding the shrine was neutralized.

In another operation in Edo State, the NDLEA arrested two suspects with 209kg of cannabis in the Usen forest, Ovia South West LGA. The suspects were apprehended on June 22, and a motorcycle was also seized.

In Lagos, NDLEA officers intercepted 8.2kg of methamphetamine disguised in Dunkin’ chocolate wraps and hidden inside three loudspeakers at a motor park in the Mazamaza, Ojo area. A suspect, Michael Odiomume, who was sending the drugs to Owerri, was arrested on June 19.

In Abuja, a 76-year-old man, Francis Omofa, was arrested in connection with 340.8kg of cannabis sativa. The drugs were found in a white Nissan Frontier with fake security registration at Kiyi village, Kuje area, on June 18. Omofa admitted to being involved in the drug trade for a decade.
