Award-winning Nigerian singers Adekunle Gold and Simi have once again captured public attention as they celebrated seven years of marriage, openly expressing admiration and love for each other.

Marking the anniversary on Instagram, Adekunle Gold shared a romantic photo of himself and his wife, describing her as his closest companion and reflecting on how their relationship has matured over the years.

“Seven years ago, I married my best friend. And somehow, every year since then has been gentler than the last. We’ve laughed hard, grown deeply, prayed sincerely, and chosen each other again and again,” he wrote.

“And through it all, loving you has been the easiest, most beautiful decision of my life. 7 years in and my heart still knows where it belongs. I love you Simi.”

Simi also penned an emotional tribute to her husband, thanking him for his patience, care and understanding.

She recalled how effortless their connection felt from the early days of their relationship and how that bond has remained unchanged.

“My baby, 7 years. You’re still the one. I’m grateful for the joy and peace you bring to my life. I remember when we were still dating and a friend asked me, ‘why him?’. I said ‘we just fit’. We still fit. You see me. You’re mindful of me. You love me. You know I’m not a gentlelady,” she shared.

“I’m a fighter, but thank you for not letting me have to fight to be seen and loved. Thank you for being a good man, cause those are hard to come by. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for being worth the sacrifice it takes to be a wife and a mommy. I love you. Husband of my youth. Ka pe fun ra wa loruko Jesu.”

Their anniversary celebration comes shortly after online speculation that the couple may have welcomed twins. The rumours followed their December announcement of a second pregnancy, which they revealed through the visuals of Adekunle Gold’s single “My Love Is The Same.”

Adekunle Gold and Simi tied the knot in a quiet wedding ceremony in January 2019 and welcomed their first child in June 2020, continuing to enjoy admiration from fans for their enduring love story.
